H2020-MSCA- ITN-2017- EJD: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (European Joint Doctorate) – Grant agreement nº: 766311 – ED-ARCHMAT

A total of 13 Early Stage Researcher (ESR) positions (PhD studentships) are available for 36 months from October/November 2018 onwards within the European Joint Doctorate ED-ARCHMAT (http://www.ed-archmat-ejd.eu/).

Eligibility Criteria

At the date of enrolment (the first day of the employment of the ESR for the purposes of the action i.e. the starting date indicated in the employment contract or equivalent direct contract) by ED-ARCHMAT applicants she/he:

Must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience measured from the date when the researcher obtained the degree entitling her/him to embark on a doctorate) of their research career and have not been awarded a doctoral degree;

May not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their recruiting organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the start of the project. Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national services not taken into account.

Application process

Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates, starting from 31st May 2018 using the application form available at http://www.ed-archmat-ejd.eu/.

The initial closing date for the positions will be 15th July 2018, but applications will continue to be considered until suitable candidates have been appointed. Students will all receive a confirmation of reception. Short listed students will be contacted to arrange an interview over internet. Following interviews, the first 13 candidates will be invited for enrolment and a reserve list of candidates will be held until each position is filled. To be considered for admission, applicants must hold at the time of the enrolment a Bachelor and a Master Degree with a minimal combined total of 240 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) in one of the areas indicated under each individual ESR projects, as listed at http://www.ed-archmat-ejd.eu. Candidates can apply for up to three ESR projects.

Required documents include

1- A brief letter of motivation stating how the candidate background and qualifications match the project(s) being applied for.
2- A statement indicating that the candidate complies with the eligibility criteria for MSCA-ITN-EJD admission.
3- A curriculum vitae.
4- A certificate of English proficiency (at the time of enrolment), may be required for those applicants whose first language is not English by certain Universities.
5- The official transcripts and marks achieved during both Bachelor and Master phases of previous degrees.
6- Two reference letters together with detailed contact information of the recommending persons.
7- Specific additional criteria if required by individual ESRs projects and enrolling Higher Education Institutions (please see the individual ESR project links at http://www.ed-archmat-ejd.eu).

Proof of evidence for degree titles: Self-certification and copies of original documents are accepted during selection of the ESRs, but original documentation will be required to be presented at the time of the enrolment.
